South Texas College Theater will conclude a successful season with its production of the Portrait the Wind the Chair, written by Y. York.
During the windstorm of the century, 10-year-old Lucy and her 14-year-old sister, Terroba, find themselves marooned alone in their grandma’s old house. The phones are dead, the electricity is out, and with mom nowhere in sight, Lucy must deal with a chair that has a mind of its own and a dead grandma, who won’t stay in her portrait. Her night of wild imagination and adventure imbue Lucy with a new ability to face her fears and embrace the love that is all around her.
