Mariachi Girl by Roxanne Shroeder-Arce.
Mariachi Girl tells the story of Carmencita, an 8 year old girl who dreams of becoming a mariachi. Her father Luis, on the other hand, is much attached to his family’s mariachi traditions and roots and does not approve of women being part of a mariachi band.
