"Let's Deal Out Child Abuse" Charity Poker Tournament

Dear Business- Partner, Last year, 201 Texas children died because of abuse or neglect at the hands of their parents or guardians. There were 4,319 confirmed investigations of abuse or neglect, here in Region 11Hidalgo & Cameron County affecting over 3,000 children. On any given day, there were approximately 2,900 children in foster care here in Region 11. A World For Children (AWFC) is a faith based, non-profit child placing agency licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to provide foster care for abused and neglected children, ages birth to 18 years. We presently serve approximately 125 abused children in 38 foster homes in Hidalgo & Cameron County. On November 14, 2013, AWFC will be hosting a charity poker tournament to raise funds for our children?s Christmas Celebration. A poker tournament ?Let?s Deal Out Child Abuse? will be held at the Yacht Club & Events Center in McAllen, Texas. The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. with music and food. The poker tournament will begin at 8:00 p.m. The event will run until 12:00 a.m. Through out the event their will be various forms of entertainment for all. Their will also be raffles through out the evening and great music and food. At this time we are asking for your support by making a monetary donation or donating an item for the event.
