Meet successful “encore entrepreneurs” and
business resource partners!
During April 2014, the U.S. Small Business Administration and AARP
are again teaming up to host the National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor
Month, targeting entrepreneurs over the age of 50. Building on last year’s successful strategic alliance
SBA and SBA resource partners will host more than 100 events (workshops, conferences, seminars, etc) around the country. Some of these high powered events will feature “speed mentoring” at which entrepreneurs and mentors share best practices and advice from successful small businesses.
For many 50+ individuals, entrepreneurship training is the empowerment tool that harnesses their experience, knowledge, and skills to become job creators. In addition, entrepreneurship training focuses on helping experience professionals
apply their career knowledge for a new business venture. Mentor Month
is an opportunity for SBA and its partners to leverage AARP’s network
to introduce current and future encore entrepreneurs to available resources. It is also an opportunity for AARP toexpose interested members to SBA’s resources on starting and growing a business.
