SUMMARY:Upper Valley Art League Exhibition Opening
DESCRIPTION:The Upper Valley Art League invites the public to its first annual 5 X 7 Fundraiser. Original 5" x 7" artworks by Upper Valley Art League members will be on sale during the reception on Oct. 14. All 5 x 7 artworks are $25.00 each. Once you make your purchase\, you can immediately take your artwork home with you. Proceeds from 5 X 7 help support programs that promote the creation of art in the community. The exhibition will open with a reception on Sat. October 14 from 7-9 p.m at the Kika de la Garza Fine Arts Center\, 921 E. 12th St. in Mission. In conjunction with the 5 x 7 exhibition\, we are proud to present ceramic artwork by UVAL members. The majority of the artwork was created in the clay studio in UVAL's art annex. Members meet during open studio hours to work on individual clay pieces\, while learning the intricacies of hand built and hand thrown objects. Experienced members share their knowledge in all aspects of the creation of ceramics. UVAL also hosts workshops that non-members may participate in. The exhibition runs through Saturday\, Nov. 4\, and is free and open to the public. The gallery is open Tue - Fri 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat. 10 to 2 p.m.. Please call to confirm hours.
