DESCRIPTION:The City of San Benito will kick-off Hispanic Heritage Month on Sept. 15 by issuing a proclamation to commemorate the national celebration at the Narciso Martinez Cultural Arts Center's Writers' Forum at 6 p.m.  Mayor Joe H. Hernandez will make the presentation at the Opening Day ceremony sponsored by the Forum with events that will include live music\, as well as locally produced literature and art by Hispanic writers and artists. Music performances will include those by Rumbo al Anacua\, Rosa and Joe Perez. Martin Saenz and Miguel Arizpe. Writers' works to be featured include those by Gene Novogrodsky\, Beto Conde\, Mel Hinojosa\, Don Clifford\, Eduardo Vidaurre\, Humberto Bocanegra\, Brisa Rodriguez\, Brenda Nettles Riojas and Julietta Corpos. A reception will follow. Event coordinators include Rita and Beto Conde\, Mel Hinojosa\, Enriqueta Lopez Ramos and Martha McClain.
